Turn all your laundry green

Be eco-conscious and get great clean clothes at the same time. Here’s how.

• Exercise control. Use cold water whenever you can; most of the energy used to do laundry goes to heating water. Plan to run full loads only!

• Don’t  forget to recycle your old detergent, bleach and fabric softener containers. Find the recycling number on the container. It’s most likely a No.2 or No. 3. Then check with your local recycling center to see if they can accept. Rinse out and let dry! And recycle away.

• Upgrade to laundry machines with great energy efficiency like the Whirlpool® Duet pair. Together, the Duet® washer and dryer save up to $3,300 in lifetime water and energy costs*.

*Compared to pre-2004 traditional top load pairs, average use, 11-year average washer life and 12-year average dryer life, combined washer and dryer water and energy savings, electric only.
