Take your picnic’s temperature.        

Now that it’s picnic season, let’s talk food safety. Don’t let warm food cool off  – or cool food warm up – for more than 2 hours. 

1. Keep cool foods cool – under 40 degrees.

2. Keep hot foods hot – above 140 degrees.

3. If you transport hot and cold foods together in the same basket or cooler, they’ll all end up at the same lukewarm (and unsafe) temperature. So carry hot foods in one container, cold foods in another.
